Indonesian Muslim Community of Victoria (IMCV)

 

IMCV (Indonesian Muslim Community of Victoria) Inc. is a non-profit religious society dedicated to the promotion of the Islam amongst Indonesian residents in the State of Victoria, Australia.

IMCV was founded in 1997 by six (6) Pengajian groups (Islamic study groups); Pengajian Brunswick, Pengajian SAS Melbourne, Pengajian LaTrobe, Monash Indonesian Islamic Society (MIIS), Young Indonesian Muslim Students Association (YIMSA), and At Taqwa (nowadays known as Pengajian Westall) with the support from Indonesian Consulate General in Melbourne. Later on Pengajian Footscray and An-Nur were formed and joined in.

Charities & Donation

IMCV aims to strengthen humanity’s fight against poverty and social injustice. Through the provision of immediate relief and establishment of self-sustaining development programs, we aim to invest in real, effective solutions. By establishing firm and loyal grass root relationships with local, national and international partners we are able to access some of the most hard to reach places at the most vulnerable of times.

Our Activities

  1. The advancement and promotion of the principles of the Islamic religion in accordance with the teachings of the Holy Qur'an and Sunnah, and the conservation and fostering of Islamic culture and beliefs.

  2. To promote a spirit of unity and provide a platform for solidarity among Muslims Community who originally come from and/or have connection with Indonesia.

  3. Establishing and providing mosques and prayer facilities, community facilities and other facilities relevant to the Muslim Community in Australia, particularly the Muslim Community who originally come from and/or have connection to Indonesia.

  4. The advancement and promotion of education in Australia.

  5. The relief of poverty and advancement of public or social welfare of the Islamic community in Australia, and the delivery of benefits to the broader society through such.

  6. The advancement of any other charitable objects and purposes for the promotion of cultural, social, economic, educational and religious welfare of Muslims in Australia.
